Top 5 Things to Do after an Accident on a Motorcycle

A motorcyclist is most likely to be involved in an accident when a car is making a left-hand turn. Typically, the turning auto hits the motorcycle when the motorcycle is being driven through an intersection.

Because a motorcycle is less visible when passing a car, or trying to overtake a car, it is often not seen, so an accident takes place. If you were out on your motorcycle and you were hit by a car in a head-on collision the chances are you will have been injured and your motorcycled damaged.

If you are able to you will need to gather as much evidence as you can to prove who was responsible for the accident.

1. Gather Evidence at the Accident Scene

Getting the evidence as soon as possible after the head on collision means the whole incident is still fresh in your mind and you won’t forget anything. The sorts of evidence you will need include:

  • the police report written by an attending officer;
  • photographs showing the position of the vehicles involved and the damage done to your motorcycle;
  • witness statements and contact details taken at the scene of the motorcycle accident.

2. Get a Medical Examination After the Accident

As you were riding a motorcycle there is a high chance you were injured, so you will need to seek medical help as soon as possible. You may even have a broken a leg or arm or suffered a back injury.
